We've been playing with raised beds so far...  This year we're tearing up the ground to the tune of about 1/2 acre.  The deer are going to be happy!

Perennials

Here's a short list of what's in the works that will hopefully be in full production mode upon retirement:

  -Pear Trees (2)

  -Apple Trees (8) Not recommended for Zone 8

  -Orange/Satsuma/Citrus (8) Have to start over on these because I got lazy and didn't prune.

   -Peach trees

   -Fig trees

  -Blueberry bushes (4)

  -Pecan trees (10) Starting to doubt that these will produce in my lifetime.

  -Grapes (4) Hope they are Pierce's disease resistant.  Didn't check before buying.

  -Asperagus

  -Bay Tree (for the leaves)

Annuals

Yea, I know you have to replace them every year, but they're so darn tasty!  Here's the short list of what's going in the ground (but no idea of what's coming up!):

   -Okra (Cow Horn)

  -Peppers (From Bell to Jalapeno)

    -Peas (Top Choice Pink Eye, Purple Hulled) 

    -Tomatos (Better Boy, Big Boy, Coustralee, and Sweet 100's primarily)

   -Watermelon (Charleston Gray)
